Feeling low, it's hard to share what's within,
Others noticed, especially my mom,
who wants to understand.
But words escape me for this state of mind,
Like wandering lost in a fog,
Unable to see or describe clearly.
When asked, I try to gather my thoughts,
At first, a void where nothing can be expressed,
Yet, amidst the emptiness,
Fleeting thoughts flicker like distant stars,
Brief and elusive in the night sky.
Trying to catch these thoughts
It's like grasping at shadows,
They come unexpectedly, like lightning,
Then vanish before understanding dawns.
It's a frustrating cycle—feeling both empty
And filled with indescribable feelings.
Perhaps this is a common experience,
Where words fall short of the depths within,
Unable to convey complexities,
Of emotions and thoughts that swirl unseen.
But don't worry; it's just a matter of time,
Believe in yourself and rediscover,
Yes, you can do it,
You will find the words,
You can explain your state of mind.
Warm Regards,
Divya.
P.S. I penned this poem, “I Cannot Explain!”, following a significant incident in my life – a year ago, after contracting COVID-19. During that time, everyone, including my mother, constantly asked me how I was feeling out of concern. However, I found myself unable to articulate my state of mind or emotions. This poem is for anyone who has experienced a similar struggle, where words fail to capture how they truly feel. To those going through such moments, I want to convey that it’s okay. Given time, you will rediscover yourself. Don’t worry; clarity will come in due course.
