Celebrating Self-Companionship on Friendship Day.
In this vast world where friendships bloom,
I search for a friend, but find only gloom.
Why is it so hard to connect and relate,
To find someone who mirrors my own state?
I've traveled far and met countless faces,
Yet none have reflected my inner spaces.
For friendship, they say, is a mirror fair,
Reflecting thoughts and feelings without a care.
But alas, this treasure eludes my grasp,
Each encounter is only a fleeting gasp.
I am a good speaker, a listener too,
A comedian, a teaser, all things I do.
But where is the one who truly understands,
Who sees me as I am, with open hands?
I've decided now, though the journey will be tough,
To be my own friend, that's more than enough.
I know myself well, every secret and fear,
No need to express in front of others so near.
So on this Friendship Day, I raise a cheer,
To my best friend, my true self, so dear.
Happy Friendship Day to me, I declare,
In my solitude, I'm not aware
Of the emptiness that once did sting,
For now, I embrace the joy it brings.
No need for another's reflection to see,
For I am my own friend, forever free.
In myself, I've found a loyal ally,
A companion true, till the end, I defy.
